“听智慧人的责备,强如听愚昧人的歌唱。”传道书7：5 忠言逆耳，但是它们的帮助和好处往往无可限量。 It is better to heed the rebuke of a wise person than to listen to the song of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:5) Words of wisdom that resented our feelings could be very helpful!

“谁将智慧放在怀中，谁将聪明赐于心内。”约伯记38:36 我们常常以自己的聪明去应付问题，但是敬畏神的约伯清楚知道神是智慧的源头。 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind? (Job 38:36) We often think it is out of our own wisdom problems are being solved. But Job understands the source of wisdom is from God.

若偏离耶和华去顺从那不能救人的虚神，是无益的。”撒母耳记上12：21 一般人的言行脚步常常显示出偏离神去追逐属世的虚幻，你有注意到吗？ Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. (1 Samuel 12:21) Wonder if you have noticed that people are away from God but hotly pursuing the illusion of the world?

“但他们得平安之后，又在你面前行恶‧所以你丢弃他们在仇敌的手中，使仇敌辖制他们‧然而他们转回，哀求你，你仍从天上垂听，屡次照你的怜悯拯救他们。”尼希米记9：28

旧约的神充满怜悯慈爱，一再等待罪人悔改归向祂；今天的神依旧给予我们无限的机会，我们应当懂得珍惜和知道感恩。

But as soon as they were at rest, they again did what was evil in your sight. Then you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies so that they ruled over them. And when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven, and in your compassion you delivered them time after time. (Nehemiah 9:28)

The Old Testament illustrated God was full of love and mercy waiting patiently for people to repent. Nowadays our God continues to grant us plenty of opportunities. Hence we should be thankful and treasure His grace.

“神明白智慧的道路，晓得智慧的所在。”约伯记28：23 约伯在苦难中仍然对神心存敬畏，清楚明白神的大能；我们是否记得神是轻慢不得的呢？ God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells (Job 28:23) When Job was in suffering he was still in great respect of God as he understood God’s way. Should we also hold such attitude?
